The Paramount Chief of Banu Traditional Council, Pio Sumaila Yakubu together with his Divisional and Sub-divisional Chiefs has said the Kasena area has been neglected by the Sissala East Municipal Assembly in terms of roads linking most of the communities in the area.
Delivering a speech, the Paramount Chief has mentioned that roads linking Kunchorgu-Wuru, Pina-Tanveli, Pina-Nitalo-Tanla, Kuapun-Kunsola and Tanla-Kunsola communities have not been given any attention by the Sissala East Municipal Assembly up to date.
The speech was read on his behalf by Pio Issaka Haruna Tipurumor, Divisional Chief of Pina at Katine during the 13th Nimoru Fakuru festival on February 10, 2020, under the theme: “enhancing small scale Agric towards Agric business development”.
The festival is celebrated annually to give thanks to Allah (God) for a successful farming season, and also to allow the Kasena people to meet as a community in the Sissala East Constituency.
Meanwhile, Pio Sumaila Yakubu also bemoaned about their several unheeded requests made to the authorities for an Area Council and reminded authorities and the Municipal Assembly again about the need for an Area Council for the Banu Paramountcy.
Pio Sumaila Yakubu has also appealed to the government to connect Kwapun, Wuru, Tanveli, Nitalo, Tanla, and Kunsola to the national grid. He further bemoaned the crisis of potable water supply in Pina, Pido, Wuru, and Kunsola has therefore urged authorities and Non-Governmental Organizations to come to their aid.
DIGNITARIES AT THE 13TH NIMORO FAKURU FESTIVAL
Dignitaries present at the Nimoru Fakuru Festival include the representatives of the Deputy Upper West regional minister, Hon. Issahaku Amidu Chinnia, Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Karim Nanyua; Representatives of Sissala East Member of Parliament, Hon. Ridwan Abass Dawda and the National Democratic Congress Sissala East Parliamentary Candidate, Mr. Mohammed Bataglia Issah.
But responding to the cry of the chiefs over the above listed deplorable roads, the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Karim Nanyua has said “plans are far advanced for the Municipal Assembly to open roads from Piina to Tanla and Piina to Tanveli”.
