A group calling itself Loyal NPP Supporters of Sissala East Constituency is demanding the immediate removal of persons the group claim as people who campaigned against the party parliamentary candidate Amidu Chinnia Issshaku.
Their action they adds affected the total vote cast for President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffu addo who lost in the Sissala East to NDCs John Mahama.
The group at a press conference yesterday, in Tumu on Monday 14th December 2020 accused the incumbent Member of Parliament for the area, Mr Ridwan Abass Dauda Mr Karim Nanyua, the Municipal Chief Executive,Dr Tanko Daniel the Regional treasurer of of the party. The rest includes; Mr. Ahmed Baworun and Mr. Liman Fuseini a.k.a Rocky as individual who took the lead in staging campaigns against the party’s candidate in the just ended 2020 elections.
The statement pointed that “these individuals who enjoyed all the juicy parts of President Nana Addo’s government ended up behaving like the proverbial fowl who scratches its beak on the ground as if it ate nothing, they tried all they could and made sure President and his parliamentary candidate lost in their various polling stations”.
The statements said further, “do not vote for President Nana Addo-because if he wins, Mr Amidu Chinnia will become a more popular and powerful ,he is not fit to be an MP”.
“And true to their words, they collaborated with their fellow antagonists and strongly campaigned against the MP elect. Their campaign was dependent on the strength of the NPP parliamentary candidate at each polling they. They claimed.
The group in the midst of their supporters stress that, “the abysmal performance of the President in the constituency, even though its Parliamentary candidate won the seat, his results brought us a totally new and unbelievable phenomenon of the NDC and John Mahama winning the presidential elections here while losing the parliamentary seat, due to the internal saboteurs and was masterminded by our outgoing MP and the outgoing MCE,”.
The group therefore demanded that, all saboteurs that orchestrated and derailed the chances of the party including their accomplices should be dealt with according to the party constitution governing it.
The member of parliament Mr Ridwan Abass in an interview asked why nobody spoke about skirt and blouse in 2012, the current MP was the parliamentary candidate but have chosen to talked about it now.
“If I lost in my polling station and won as an MP, why is it a problem if the MP elect lost in some of his polling station in 2020”
Mr Ridwan Abass added that he won both parliamentary and presidential election in 2016 in Sissala East from opposition but has never complained. “It’s not true that I campaigned on skirt and blouse and all the allegations are untrue about me”, he said
